Get ready for a game-changer! Google is bringing a new feature to your Pixel devices, and it's all about taking control of those pesky notifications. Say goodbye to clutter and hello to a more organized digital life!
Last month, Google introduced AI Summaries, and now they're taking it up a notch with the Notification Organizer, rolling out with Android 16 QPR2. This feature is designed to categorize and manage your alerts, making it easier to stay on top of the information that matters to you.
Here's the deal: once you update to Android 16 QPR2, head to your Settings app, navigate to Notifications, and look for the Notification Organizer near the top. Unlike AI Summaries, this feature is automatically enabled, so you're already one step ahead!
Now, here's where it gets interesting. The Notification Organizer sorts your alerts into four categories: Promotions, News, Social, and Suggested. The first two are already active, but you'll need to enable the others manually. And this is the part most people miss: there's an option to "Always expand bundles," giving you even more control over how you view your notifications.
You'll find the Organizer under the "Silent" section of your notification shade. Each category icon is marked with an AI sparkle, while app icons are stacked on the right. Simply tap to expand the bundle and interact with the full notifications.
If you haven't received the update yet, give your Pixel a restart. We're seeing the Notification Organizer on the Pixel 10 series, so keep an eye out!
And here's a little extra: this feature is currently available in Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Your primary system language must be set to English to access it.
So, what do you think? Are you excited to try out this new feature? Or do you prefer a more traditional approach to notifications? Let us know in the comments! We'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences with the Notification Organizer.
